The funeral arrangements for esteemed sportscaster Christina Chambers have been finalized.
According to her obituary, there will be a visitation and rosary on Sunday, and a celebration of life and funeral service on Monday:
“A visitation will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home in Cullman, AL from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 PM, on Sunday, December 21. 2025. Prior to the funeral service Monday, a Celebration of Life will be held 9:00 AM-10:30 AM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church in Cullman, Alabama at 11:00 AM.”
The 38-year-old mother passed away on Tuesday in an apparent murder/suicide. Her body was found inside her Hoover home by family members.
The Cullman native is being remembered as a devout Catholic, an avid runner and someone who always had a smile on her face.
“Christina was always running — figuratively and literally,” the obituary reads.
After graduating from Cullman High School, Christina continued her love for running at UAB as an NCAA Division I sprinter. After college, she finished the World Marathon Majors in Boston, London, Chicago and New York.
“Christina loved the Birmingham running community and getting up before dawn most days to hit the pavement with her group. Running was Christina’s true joy—a time to clear her mind, connect with her body, and reflect,” her obituary stated.
Chambers’s career in broadcast television took her through Birmingham, Columbus, Ga., Atlanta, Montgomery and finally back to Birmingham.
“Coaches, players, and fans remember that Christina always had a smile on her face as her passion for sports shone through,” loved ones stated.
Although her professional life took her to Thompson High School as a teacher and advisor and ultimately to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Chambers continued to freelance for high school sports. Throughout, Chambers remained focused on her faith and even visited the Vatican earlier this year.
Her legacy, according to her obituary, is her son.
“Though she has left this world, Christina leaves behind a lasting legacy: her son, Constantine, who carries her love, strength, and light forward every day,” the obituary reads. Being Constantine’s mother was Christina’s greatest pride. She loved him fiercely, protected him endlessly, and taught him to live a faith-based life.
“Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in the promise Christina believed so deeply: to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Her faith was unshakable; her hope unwavering; and her life a living testimony to God’s grace.”
A GoFundMe account has been set up for Chambers’s son. Donations can also be made to benefit Constantine Rimes at any Traditions Bank location.
