The dog kept barking while staring at the painting hanging on the wall, but when the police officer took it down and saw what was hidden behind it, he was shocked by what he saw
The service dog and the police officer arrived at this old, partly ruined mansion in connection with a missing person case. One of the witnesses reported that the man was last seen near this building, and the police decided to thoroughly search the area.
The building had been abandoned for many years. Dust-covered rooms, cracked walls, and rotten floors showed that no one had lived there for a long time. However, the service dog suddenly became restless. It quickly ran through several rooms and stopped in front of a large painting hanging on the wall.
The dog began barking continuously, keeping its eyes fixed on the painting. At first, the officer thought the animal was simply reacting to a smell, but the dogâs behavior became increasingly aggressive. It tried to reach the painting with its paws, as if sensing that something was behind it.
To calm the animal, the officer decided to remove the heavy frame from the wall, and what he saw behind the painting shocked him.

Inside the wall was a metal door â the entrance to a small secret compartment. However, that was not the worst part. From the lower part of the door, several wires were coming out, connected to an explosive device. It turned out that the secret compartment had been deliberately rigged with explosives so that any uninvited visitor trying to open it would trigger an explosion.
Bomb disposal experts were immediately called. After several hours of work, they managed to defuse the device. Only then was the metal door opened.
Inside the compartment, old documents, records of large sums of money, and evidence related to a series of serious crimes committed many years ago were found. Most importantly â information about the missing person was also discovered there, leading investigators to the criminalsâ hideout.
A few days later, the police arrested the main suspects in the case, and the missing person was found alive.
