THOMAS RAINWATER’S WORDS MAY HAVE JUST CHANGED KAYCE DUTTON’S FUTURE
A meeting that seemed to be just to discuss a new case in Montana quickly turned into the most tense moment yet between Kayce Dutton and Thomas Rainwater.
The conversation initially proceeded quite normally, focusing on legal matters and cooperation between the two sides. However, the atmosphere suddenly changed when Thomas Rainwater mentioned John Dutton.
The moment John Dutton’s name was uttered, the entire room seemed to hold its breath.
Kayce Dutton, who usually maintained a cold and controlled demeanor, stood frozen. He didn’t react, didn’t speak, just silently stared at Rainwater. His eyes no longer held the usual anger or defiance, but extreme shock and wariness.

Thomas Rainwater, after noticing everyone’s reaction, paused for a moment. He didn’t continue the conversation immediately, but only looked at Kayce with a meaningful gaze. Kayce Dutton remained silent. He didn’t ask what Rainwater meant. He didn’t try to change the subject either. His prolonged silence only intensified the tension.
Pete Calvin finally spoke, attempting to ease the tension:
“Rainwater, we’re talking about the current case.”
But Rainwater only looked at Kayce and continued in a low voice:
“John Dutton once told me something… and I think it’s time some people remembered it.”
That statement was like a punch to the air. Kayce clenched his fists, but said nothing. Belle Skinner stared at Kayce, clearly trying to understand what Rainwater was implying.
Mo still turned away. He didn’t participate in the conversation, but his silence and turning away spoke volumes: Rainwater had just stumbled upon a huge secret.
The meeting ended on a heavy note. Kayce Dutton left the office without saying anything further. Pete Calvin followed, looking worried. Belle Skinner and Mo remained, neither speaking to the other, but clearly both contemplating the same thing.
Tate Dutton, though absent from the meeting, would soon be affected by what had just happened. Rainwater’s mention of John Dutton and Kayce’s strong reaction suggested a dangerous part of his past was beginning to surface.
Currently, Belle Skinner and Pete Calvin were both watching Kayce closely. They understood that Rainwater had sent a message, and that message was directly related to the Dutton family.
Kayce Dutton was clearly trying to conceal something very significant. But with Thomas Rainwater having publicly mentioned John Dutton, this secret can hardly be kept hidden much longer.
