Mike Tyson’s upcoming fight with Jake Paul has caused concern for fans after it was sanctioned as a professional boxing match.
The 57-year-old heavyweight legend will face the YouTuber, 30 years his junior, in a huge crossover event this summer.

Paul started his boxing career on the undercard of Tyson’s exhibition clash with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, and they will now face each other.
That draw is the only time ‘Iron Mike’ has laced up his gloves since retiring as a professional in 2005.
‘The Problem Child’ has since gone 9-1 inside the squared circle having knocked out Ryan Bourland inside the first round late time out.
Paul vs Tyson: Fight rules
The July bout will be classified as a sanctioned, professional fight by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
The fight will be contested at Tyson’s former heavyweight class – despite Paul beating Bourland at cruiserweight in March.
It will be fought over eight two-minute rounds.
Both Paul and Tyson will sport 14-ounce gloves, rather than the 10oz normally used.
As it is a sanctioned fight, each fighter can knock down or knock out their opponent while no headgear will be worn.
The result will also affect their professional boxing records.
