Boys who run after the ball in America are considered weak, because soccer is a sport for American women, not for men.

While online newspapers in Vietnam have jubilantly set up World Cup pages, everything is still as quiet as usual in the US. In this great country, people only like rugby – a sport that makes me scared just by looking at it, and baseball – a sport that makes me sleepy to the point of tears. Never mind, I can use whatever I like.

Honestly, the US men’s soccer team isn’t that bad. They have regularly attended the World Cup in recent years, even reaching the second round and reaching the quarterfinals in 2006. But no, the boys who run after the ball in America are considered weak. silk, because soccer is an American women’s sport. Men’s football only plays a supporting role, but that’s okay.

The day the US team fell into the group of death with Ghana, Argentina and Portugal, I cried online but only received indifference from my American friends and ridicule from my Vietnamese friends.

However, the Vietnamese men’s team probably won’t be able to attend the World Cup as long as I’m alive and the women’s team has missed out on tickets to the world’s top arena. If that’s the case, then I’ll have to grab a home team to cheer for. Yes. The second home team, America, is here, so let’s grab it and cheer for the World Cup season.

Although the US team is present in the 2014 World Cup finals, Americans are not very excited because soccer is considered ‘the weak willow’.

We don’t have the time to watch the World Cup. Well, when the World Cup is in Europe or Africa, all matches take place during the day in America. At that time, I still had to work, so I only occasionally visited websites that were reporting live to relieve boredom. I remember the old days of staying up late to watch football, everyone in the house was loudly cheering. Even though you still have friends late at night, now there’s no one to watch with you.

As for this year’s World Cup in Brazil, the hours are a bit better, but there are still many matches that start at 9pm locally, especially the American matches. If I watch the whole game, I’ll probably become a panda, but in America, being a panda is only suitable for parents with small children. Football cannot be the reason for anything, let alone short yawns at work.

I also won’t have anyone to comment on football with. In a country where Messi is a misspelled word for chaos, we have no hope that they will understand why Messi makes us cry out in despair.

But I’m still determined to watch the World Cup. We look for TV schedules and channels that show the World Cup. We have cable TV but it seems unlikely that we will have to buy additional channels for the World Cup season.

The channels showing the World Cup are in Spanish. If not, we’ll end up buying the wrong channel. American commentators are very professional, but because they are commenting for the American public, they keep interjecting sentences explaining soccer rules. It’s crazy to have to listen to the commentator explain what a penalty is.

And still thank life for letting us watch the World Cup. At least I’m not banned and I have TV, cable TV and a little time to turn myself into a panda. No matter where it is, football still has great appeal. I just hope you watch the World Cup for fun and don’t bet.
