The Temptation Episode Eight
“Open the door. Your wife told us that you have been kidnapped. She said the lady who is staying with you confused you with charms. Open the door because we want to help you. You need to be rescued from the woman who kidnapped you. Your wife called us and told us that you are in danger. That is why we are back here to rescue you. Open the door immediately. If you fail to open the door, we will break it. And if we break it, it will be worse for you and your girlfriend, who has kidnapped you and kept you here for two weeks.” The policemen said as soon as the arrived the hotel room.
“But I was the one who called you to come and arrest the woman who was disturbing me and my girlfriend. I told you that I don’t know her. She was here to harm us. You duly came and arrested her. If you had failed to arrest her, she would have harmed me and my woman. Why are you now saying I’m the one under hostage? No one is holding me hostage. I’m here on my own free will. I brought my girlfriend here to enjoy with her and I don’t know the woman standing there with you.” Ndu responded to the police.
“If you refuse to open the door, then we have no option but to break it. It is our responsibility to protect people who are in danger and we have been informed that you are in danger, having been kidnapped by a strange woman who is on the verge of stealing you from your wife. We will not allow any form of crime in this city. You have 60 seconds to open the door, or we will break it and come in with force.” The police said. The situation was getting serious and tension was rising high. Doris was worried, so she spoke out because she was the one who was labelled as a kidnapper.
“Please, I did not kidnap anyone. I love Mr Ndu and he loves me too. We have been here for two weeks and there is no report that I have harmed him. We have been enjoying ourselves and making love all the time. Why are you now saying I kidnapped him? Is it me that said he should not love his wife again? See, let me tell you people, we are in love and he is going to leave his wife and marry me.” Doris said. Her comments made Afoma angrier. She was shocked to hear when Doris proudly said she has been making love with Ndu.
“If you call yourself a strong woman, open that door first. Open the door let us do it hand to hand. Open the door let me teach you a lesson. Why are you afraid of me? If you said you are not afraid, just open the door let us see who will beat who. Jealous woman. You will pay dearly for trying to steal my husband from me.” Afoma said with anger.
“Madam you cannot do anything. You are not able to satisfy your husband in the bedroom and I’m now doing it perfectly well. That is why he chose me over you. You cannot stop what is about to happen. You cannot stop your husband from divorcing you. He has already promised to marry me. When he chases you out of his house, your eyes will open.” Doris said from inside the room. The policemen were just there listening to them.
“When I finish with you, you will not have mouth to talk again. When I finish dealing with you, that mouth you are running ‘cho cho’ will shut up. I will teach you a lesson you will never forget. I will show you pepper. For trying to steal my husband, I will make you see a lot of suffering in this life. In your next life, you will never think of stealing someone’s husband.” Afoma said.
“I said there is nothing you can do. Your husband is going to get me pregnant before we will leave this place. If care is not taking, I’m already pregnant. You know you are a barren woman. The moment I get pregnant and give your husband a child, he will dump you forever. You are of no use to him again because you are as barren as a desert.” Doris said. She was still talking from inside the room. At some point, the police could not take it anymore, so they decided to break the door. One of the policemen kicked the door with his boot and it flung open.
As soon as the door flung open, Afoma jumped in and grabbed Doris and they started fighting. Afoma slapped Doris several times and Doris retaliated. The police were able to separate them. They arrested only Doris.
“You are under arrest for kidnapping Ndu and keeping him in a hotel with the intention of collecting ransom. You will be charged to court for your crimes.” The police said.
“She did not kidnap me. I was the one who brought her here. Why are you saying she kidnapped me? It looks like my wife has bribed you with a huge amount of money so that you will put a false allegation on Doris’ head. Let Doris go. She is my girlfriend.” Ndu said but the police did not listen to him.
“She kidnapped you and we are taking her to the police station. We will detain her and charge her to court. She will go to jail for the crime.” The police said. They dragged Doris to their van and took her to the police station. She was locked up.
Ndu and Afoma were also at the police station. However, Ndu was not allowed to see Doris. Only Afoma was allowed to visit Doris in the detention room.
“This is where you will stay for the rest of your life. I will personally make sure you are not released. You wanted to take my husband from me, but I will take your freedom from you. You are going to jail. Even my husband will not be able to help you. I will make sure the police locks you up forver. They will throw the key into the ocean.”. Afoma said.
