BREAKING NEWS: Missing elderly woman in New York City found dead in a drainage ditch; surveillance cameras captured her ‘collapsing’ in her final moments: police say they saw her.
The Brooklyn grandmother who went missing in Las Vegas was found dead in a drainage ditch area near an airport – as cops reveal her final moments were captured on surveillance footage.
Alisa Goods, 63, was seen on surveillance footage “falling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing on Aug. 8” with “no further movement observed after that,” the Las Vegas Metro Police Department told KTNV.
The mother of five’s body was found by authorities 12 days later on Aug. 20 at around 1:45 a.m. Her body was not visible from the street, cops told the outlet.
The Brooklyn resident was visiting her friend of 20 years, Roger John, in Sin City and left his pad near the Las Vegas Strip to go shopping at CVS before her disappearance.
John was not considered a suspect in her disappearance and aided in the search effort during the nearly two weeks she was missing.
Her family revealed that Goods had recently undergone several surgical procedures on her legs.
They mourned the loss of their matriarch after Goods’ body was found on Thursday.
“Our hearts are broken. We were notified that my aunt was found — unfortunately, not the way we wanted her to be,” Goods’ niece, Alana Calloway, said in a statement.
“This is an unimaginable time. Words cannot describe the pain our family is experiencing right now.
“We just want to thank the public for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers. We also want to thank the media for helping bring attention to this situation. This hurts so deeply. We are still trying to learn the details surrounding her death. We ask for continued prayers and privacy as we grieve,” the statement concluded.
Authorities have not yet announced Goods’ cause of death.
