American singer Oliver Tree, best known globally for his hit song Life Goes On, has reportedly died at the age of 33 following a tragic helicopter crash in Brazil.

According to reports cited by Page Six, the accident occurred in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the western region of Rio de Janeiro. Oliver Tree was identified as one of six victims killed in the crash.

The other victims reportedly included director Lucas Vignale, Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim, also known as Gaspi, music producer Lucas Brito Chaves, and two pilots, Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.

Authorities said two helicopters collided in midair while flying over a parking lot. After the aircraft fell, at least 20 cars at the site caught fire, creating a devastating scene that shocked witnesses and fans around the world.

Oliver Tree was reportedly traveling in the same helicopter as Vignale, Prim, Chaves, and pilot Alexandre Souza. The second helicopter was allegedly being flown by pilot Charles Marsillac, who was alone on board.

Local police told CNN that the case remains under investigation, and forensic experts have been requested to examine the crash scene.

Brazilian officials, including local police, firefighters, and traffic engineering teams, quickly arrived at the scene and blocked off the surrounding area.

In an official statement, the Brazilian Air Force said investigators from the aviation accident investigation and prevention agency had been called to carry out initial procedures involving the two aircraft.

According to the statement, specialists will collect and verify data, preserve evidence, examine the damage caused by the crash, and gather additional information to support the investigation.

Oliver Tree had been visiting South America as part of his global tour, The World’s First World Tour. He had recently completed a successful performance in São Paulo on June 6 and was expected to continue the tour with a show in Lisbon on July 13.

That performance will no longer take place following the singer’s sudden death.

Born in California in 1993, Oliver Tree began gaining public attention at a young age. Early in his career, he performed under the name Tree and collaborated with major electronic music artists including Skrillex and Zeds Dead.

After releasing a solo album in 2013, he stepped away from music for several years to study music technology.

He later returned with his debut studio album Ugly Is Beautiful in 2020, which helped bring him international recognition. The album featured Life Goes On, the song that became one of his most widely known hits.

In the following years, Oliver Tree continued releasing music, including the albums Cowboy Tears and Alone in a Crowd. Most recently, he released Love You Madly Hate You Badly in April.
