Open Wire Careers
We have no open roles yet, but we would love to hear from people who share our approach.
No open roles just yet
DailyTin24 is in its launch edition, and we are not currently advertising any open positions. There are no live vacancies, application forms or recruitment deadlines at the moment. When roles do open, we will list them on this page with a clear description of the job, the expected hours and how to apply.
We are sharing this page now because we know some readers will want to be part of what we are building, and because we think it is better to be upfront about where things stand.
The people we hope to work with
A constructive, calm newsroom depends on people who care about getting things right and explaining them well. As we grow, we expect to look for:
- Reporters and desk editors with expertise in culture, wealth, science and health, climate, mobility, education or city life.
- Fact-checkers and researchers who enjoy tracing a claim back to its original source.
- Audio producers and presenters to help launch DailyTin Radio 24, which is coming soon.
- Designers and developers who believe a fast, readable, lightweight site is a form of respect for readers.
- Audience and newsletter editors who can help the Morning Coffee Tin reach people without resorting to clickbait.
What we value
Titles and experience matter less to us than the way people work. We value curiosity, clear writing, honesty about uncertainty and the ability to stay calm when the news cycle is not. We want a team that reflects the range of readers we serve, and we welcome interest from people with unconventional backgrounds, career changers and those returning to work.
We also value a sustainable pace. A digest that helps readers avoid burnout should not be built by a team that burns out, so we intend to plan our schedules with that in mind.
Send us a note
If you would like us to keep you in mind for future roles or freelance work, email [email protected]. Please include:
- A few lines about who you are and what you would like to do.
- Links to two or three examples of your work.
- The desk or type of role that interests you most.
We read every message, although we may not be able to reply to each one individually while no roles are open. We will not share your details with anyone outside our team, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
