Tip Line

How to share a story idea or information with DailyTin24 safely.

Share a tip

Some of the best stories start with a reader who noticed something. Perhaps a community project is quietly solving a local problem, a piece of research deserves wider attention, or something in your city is not working the way it should. If you think we should look into it, we would like to hear from you.

The way to reach us is by email: [email protected]. Tips are read by editors on our Central Editorial Desk and passed to the relevant desk when appropriate.

What to include

The more specific you can be, the easier it is for us to assess and verify your information.

  • What happened: a short summary of the situation, in your own words.
  • Where and when: the location, dates and any relevant timeline.
  • Who is involved: organisations or public roles connected to the story.
  • How you know: whether you saw it directly, heard it from someone or found it in a document.
  • Evidence: links to public documents, reports or data, if they exist.
  • How to reach you: and whether you are willing to talk further.

Please tell us clearly if you want your identity kept confidential. We will not name a source who asks for anonymity without their agreement, and any promise of confidentiality is decided by an editor.

Your safety comes first

No story is worth putting yourself at risk. Please think carefully before you send anything to us.

  • Do not send anything that could endanger you, your job or other people.
  • Do not break the law or your employer's rules to obtain information for us.
  • Avoid using a work email address or a device managed by your employer.
  • Consider whether the information could only have come from you.

An honest limitation

We do not yet offer encrypted channels such as secure messaging apps or anonymous drop boxes. Ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted, and messages may pass through third-party servers. If your information is highly sensitive, please bear this in mind and consider sharing only a general description first. We hope to add more secure options in future and will announce them on this page.

What happens next

We read every tip, but we cannot follow up on all of them or reply to everyone. Sending a tip does not guarantee coverage. If we pursue your information, we will verify it independently under our Fact-Check Policy before publishing anything.
